11th Hour Response 2.8.10

Opposed to Gore's "Inconvenient Truth", Dicaprio's "11th Hour" is a film that shows the slowly eroding decay of our earth due to the mass consumption by humans and our resistance to change our destructive ways. This video provides evidence and actual data to almost scare the viewer and keep them engaged and concerned about each of their roles on this earth. I feel that even though this film does make us want to change due to the negative effects, just a few people can not reverse the destruction that has already started. As a designer, I believe that we can influence people to try and be more sustainable, yet by doing this, we may cause more damage due to the process in which present these ideas (example: printing on paper). If one day we could find a way to live more simply, then maybe we can change the outcome that scientist have predicted.
