Personal Creation 4.7.10

Here is my first creation, however it never made it to class because it died in my fridge, collapsing and melting.

However, I decided to bring in something I have been working on, which is recyclable clothing made of red solo cups folded and woven together.

Beautiful Losers Response

This documentary really opened my eyes to how liberating art can be in any setting, especially in a time when uncensored contemporary street art wasn't valued. It showed me that art doesn't have to please anyone but yourself, however you can bond over common interests. In their situation, the various artist, at a young age, created a casual gallery for whoever wanted to see honest artwork. There were no regulations or expectations. There was no money for the work, just pure creativity.

From this film, I felt as though the various artist, became who they are from their lackadaisical attitudes. Only doing what they enjoyed, art, instead of what was fashionable at the time. I wish i had this mind set, because although I do what I like most of time, I feel very restricted due to the people around me or the close minded attitudes of various teachers I have.

I'm glad I have this class because it conflicts with most other things Im doing right now. Here I get to just stop and take a second to look around and enjoy what I'm seeing, as well as being inspired along the way.
